2024 in Pictures -- Here are some other photos from shows, the Huntington Library, and other things we did in 2024.

Holiday season at the Disneyland Resort, 2024 -- Visiting Disneyland for the holidays.

Halloween 2024 at the Disneyland Resort -- As usual, the parks and resort were all in for Halloween.

Disneyland Resort, 2024 -- We made good use of our annual passes in 2024.  Here's a sampling from our visits.

Castle Peak and Thunder Railroad -- After trying to get in a few times, we got to see Castle Peak and Thunder Railroad, a Disney-themed backyard railroad in Anaheim.  June 1, 2024.

Hawai'i, the Big Island (April 16-21, 2024) -- We took a wonderful trip with friends to Hawai'i (the Big Island).  As usual, I took tons of photos.

The Dance Network's Voodoo Strut shows, 2023 -- We've been seeing The Dance Network's Voodoo Strut shows in Santa Barbara for years, and they're always fun.  These photos are from the Voodoo Strut shows on October 28, 2023.

San Francisco Road Trip (2023) -- We took a road trip with friends Rob and Eileen to the Presidio in San Francisco to see The Walt Disney Family Museum.  Then a day at Gilroy Gardens before spending the night in Salinas.  On the way home we made a quick stop at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo.  July 26-30, 2023.

Disneyland Collection -- I went to a pre-auction exhibit of Disneyland collectibles from the Joel Magee Disneyland collection.  The variety of things he had collected was amazing.  July 5, 2023.

The Huntington -- Another visit to the Huntington on a beautiful day, January 28, 2023.

The Huntington -- Visiting The Huntington with friends on New Year's Eve day.  It was a fun day, even with rainy weather.  December 31, 2022.

Christmas, 2022 -- Getting together at Dad's for Christmas.

2022 in Pictures -- These photos from the 2022 didn't really fit in other collections here on the web site.  These are mostly from home or nearby, and include some shows we went to.

Disneyland, December 17, 2022 -- after more than 3 years, we went back to Disneyland.  We had a great time!

Knott's Berry Farm in 2022 -- We had renewed our Knott's Berry Farm season passes from 2021, so visited a number of times again in 2022.

Downtown Disney in 2022 -- We visited Downtown Disney several times in 2022, enjoying the atmosphere, dining, and entertainment.  Oh, and pin shopping for Angie.

Solvang (2022) -- After seeing The Dance Network's Voodoo Strut show in Santa Barbara on October 29, 2022, we spent the night and the following day in Solvang.  We even found a museum that we haven't been to before and visited the Lutheran church in town for the first time.

The Dance Network shows, 2022 -- We went to Santa Barbara to see two shows by The Dance Network, Series 7 on June 25, 2022, and Voodoo Struct on October 29, 2022.

D23 Expo (September 10, 2022) -- We went to the middle day (Saturday) of this year's D23 Expo, and had a great time.

Baywood Park, CA (2022) -- We spent a weekend visiting friends in Baywood Park in August 2022.  We went to see the elephant seals in Piedras Blancas and the sea otters in Morro Bay.

Scandinavian Festival -- 2022 Scandinavian Festival at California Lutheran University.  Crafts, food, entertainment, and ABBA (sort of).

Grand Canyon (April 20-24, 2022) -- Visiting the Grand Canyon with our friends, Debra and Gary.  We took Amtrak to Flagstaff, a shuttle to Williams, and another train to the Grand Canyon Village.  We were supposed to return the same way, but the Amtrak trip was cancelled, so we spent the night in Flagstaff and then took a road trip home with shuttle to Phoenix airport to pick up a rental car to take us home.

Dad and KT's Birthday, 2022 -- Getting together with the family to celebrate Dad and KT's birthdays.

Hummingbird -- Some photos of a female Allen's Hummingbird at the feeder outside the window. December 31, 2021.

Christmas, 2021 -- Getting together with the family for Christmas.

All That Glitters -- We went to a D23 Holiday Mixer at the Bowers Museum on December 17, 2021.  We met up with our friends Rob and Eileen there, and got to see the new exhibit, "All That Glitters: The Crown Jewels of the Walt Disney Archives".  It had jewelry and accessories from the Walt Disney Archives, which now includes the 20th Century Fox studios that Disney acquired.

Knott's Merry Farm -- Visiting Knott's Berry Farm for the holidays in 2021.  It was pretty festive, and we enjoyed lots of entertainment.

2021 in Pictures -- Here's a collection of photos from the 2021 that didn't fit in other collections here on the web site.  These were mostly taken at or near home.

Downtown Disney in 2021 -- We visited Downtown Disney a few times in 2021, both before the parks were open (which was pretty strange with small crowds and all the pandemic restrictions), and after.  We had fun there, as we always do.

Knott's Berry Farm in 2021 -- Since we had bought season passes, we visited Knott's a number of times during the year.  Here are some photos from other visits.

Knott's Spooky Farm -- Here are photos from visits around Halloween in 2021.  We went for the "Spooky Farm", not to be confused with the "Scary Farm".

Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds -- We went to the Skirball Cultural Center on October 10, 2021, for a nice lunch with some friends and a visit to a nice Star Trek exhibit there.

Hillsboro, Oregon (July 2021) -- I had a business trip to Hillsboro, my first time in Oregon.  It was mostly long days working, but I managed to walk around a bit and take some photos.  This was my first flight since the pandemic began.

Los Osos for July 4th Weekend (2021) -- We spent the July 4 weekend visiting friends in Los Osos.  We visited Morro Bay and went to see an exhibit called Light at Sensorio in Paso Robles.  We had seen it a couple of years ago, and it was nice and had expanded.

Inside the Disney Archives Exhibit -- We had tickets to see this exhibit at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana in March 2020, but it got postponed several times.  We finally got to see it on June 5, 2021.  It was a fun and interesting exhibit.  Lots of historical artifacts and props.

Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney, May 24-25, 2021 -- We had a great visit with friends at Disney California Adventure, and spent a little time hanging out in Downtown Disney, too.

Knott's Berry Farm -- We went for a "passholder preview" day (since we had just bought passes), May 19, 2021.

Knott's Taste of Boysenberry Festival -- Meeting up with friends at Knott's Taste of Boysenberry Festival on Angie's birthday, April 2021.

Hail Storm -- We had a hail storm on March 11, 2021, accompanied by thunder and lightning. We got so much hail and it was cold enough that it didn't all melt until mid-day the following day.

2020 in Pictures -- I have a few photo collections from 2020, but this is just a collection of photos from the year, mostly taken at or near home.

Downtown Disney in 2020 -- We visited Downtown Disney a couple of times in 2020. The first time was February 15, when we hung out a bit and met some friends for dinner. And then again on August 21, after it reopened with lots of changes due to the coronavirus pandemic. We met up with a couple of friends then, too, but it was a very different experience from the usual.

Nearby Fires, July 2020 -- In what seemed like a busy fire season, we had two small brush fires nearby in July, just 5 days apart. Neither posed a significant risk, but they were close enough to watch the activities and take some photos.

Huntington Library, March 8, 2020 -- We made a spontaneous visit to the Huntington Library, not knowing that just days later everything would start shutting down due to the coronavirus. It was a nice Spring day. We did limit ourselves mostly to outdoor activities, to keep it safe and maintain social distancing.

Aquarium of the Pacific, January 1, 2020 -- We celebrated New Year's Day with a visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park, November 23, 2019 -- We went to a special event at the new duck-bill platypus exhibit and spent the rest of the day at the park. It was part of a fun couple day visit with my sister.

Newsies and The Little Mermaid -- This year we saw a couple of great Disney musical performances in local theaters -- Newsies at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center (March 31, 2019) and The Little Mermaid at the High Street Arts Center in Moorpark (November 10, 2019).  Both had great casts and were really fun.

Disney Live events at the Hollywood Bowl -- Despite drizzles and light rain, we had a great time at "The Little Mermaid Live in Concert" at the Hollywood Bowl, May 18, 2019. The weather was better for "Disney Pixar Coco - A Live-to-Film Concert Experience", also at the Hollywood Bowl, on November 8, 2019.

Walt Disney World -- We went to Walt Disney World on a rather spontaneous vacation, where we visited all four parks with good friends. October 19-24, 2019. Photos from each park are in separate collections below.

Disney Animal Kingdom -- Disney Animal Kingdom was an awesome way to start our vacation at Walt Disney World. Pandora is absolutely amazing to see, and the two rides there are great. October 20, 2019.

Magic Kingdom -- Monday was our day for Magic Kingdom. The weather was threatening, but we just had one downpour (while we were in line for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride). In the evening we stayed for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was a fun day. October 21, 2019.

Epcot -- We really enjoyed seeing Epcot. We did a lot, but could have spent a lot more time exploring Epcot, especially the pavilions in the World Showcase. October 22, 2019.

Disney Hollywood Studios -- Our last of the four parks (not counting water parks, which we didn't visit) at Walt Disney World. We had a fun time, and were joined by a friend of Rob and Eileen. The highlight here was probably Toy Story Land.  Our dinner experience was pretty unique, too.  October 23, 2019.

Friends and Family, 2019 -- From a few opportunities to visit with friends and family in 2019.

Sponsorship visits, 2019 -- Visiting Forest and Miki at America's Teaching Zoo.  A video from one of the visits is on YouTube.  We had lots of nice visits with the animals Angie used to work with, but the program changed so the visits ended this year.

D23 Expo, August 24-25, 2019 -- We spent a couple of fun days at the D23 Expo in August 2019.

Disneyland, 2019 -- From a number of visits in 2019.

Morro Bay, July 2019 -- Visiting friends near Morro Bay, July 3-5, 2019.  We spent some time around the bay and went to an interesting exhibition of lights called Field of Light at Sensorio.  Warning: Lots of cute sea otter pics in here.

Galaxy's Edge Opening -- We got in to see Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge because our friends were able to get reservations and included us.  Reservations for the first four weeks were gone in hours. June 12, 2019.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park, June 9, 2019 -- Another nice visit to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Sea Lions in Oceanside Harbor, June 8, 2019 -- We had lunch with my sister in Oceanside Harbor, then spent time watching some California sea lions.

Disney D'Capella -- We went to see Disney's new group, D'Capella, at Fred Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, March 13, 2019.

California Poppy Reserve, March 27 2019 -- A nice visit during California's 2019 "superbloom".

Corriganville Park, March 17 and 24, 2019 -- Hiking in a local park to see a super bloom of California poppies.  Once by ourselves, and a week later with a couple of friends.

Vista, January 2019 -- Sightseeing in Vista with my sister on January 29, 2019. We stopped at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park and Alta Vista Botanical Gardens.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park, January 28, 2019 -- A fun day at the Safari Park.  Here's a video of a cheetah sprinting.
